Our Lady of Mercy High School (Girls)
Our Lady of Mercy High School is the largest all-women’s Catholic secondary school in the Rochester, New York area. Established in 1928, by the Sisters of Mercy of Rochester, and accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and the University of the State of New York, Mercy’s goal is to foster spiritual, personal and social growth as well as intellectual development in its students. Montessori School

Rochester School for the Deaf

Colleges & Universities

University of Rochester
Established in 1850, Rochester’s leading institution of high learning is the University of Rochester with its major campus on Wilson Boulevard and it world-renowned Eastman School of Music located in the Cultural District.
The Medical Center is one of the finest anywhere and includes Strong Memorial Hospital and the Schools of Medicine, Dentistry and Nursing
Reflecting Rochester’s demand for scientists and engineers, there are outstanding colleges for science and engineering, including the Institute of Optics that further enhances the city’s title: The World’s Image Center. Also important to the industries the William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration.

Rochester Institute of Technology
More than 15,000 students attend RIT. It’s one of the largest universities in the area as well as the oldest, dating back to 1829. RIT’s educations offerings are much broader than its name implies; there are colleges of liberal arts, science and applied science, business, continuing education, engineering, and imaging arts and science. In fields such as electronic imaging, computer science, photography and printing. The School for American Craftsmen has produced internationally distinguished artists, include Wendell Castle, who works locally in wood and Albert Paley, who’s principal material at his Rochester studio is iron.

Suny Brockport
Brockport is an important campus of the SUNY educational system, located 16 miles West of Rochester with an extension from the Brockport facility with more than 30 undergraduate majors and advanced degrees offered in many disciplines. Teaching certificates can be obtained in 16 areas.

St. John Fisher College
For those who prefer the a smaller college, St. John Fisher is a well established and recognized school with a full liberal arts curriculum and particular strength in business and accounting, including an excellent graduate school of management. Some 1500 full-time undergraduate students attend this college on east Avenue in the suburb of Pittsford.

Nazareth College
Nearby St. John Fisher is Nazareth College, a co-educational liberal arts institution that is noted for foreign languages, fine arts, and theater.

Monroe Community College
This is the largest community college in upstate New York and has the enviable reputation of being one of the best such schools in the U.S. It offers in-depth courses of recognized quality and has multiple 2 + 2 programs with four-years institutions in the area. Also, cooperative programs with local business and industry add practical experience.

Roberts Wesleyan College
This is an independent, co-educational, liberal arts college in the Christian tradition. Accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and with National professional accreditation in music, art, nursing and social work. Roberts offers 40 undergraduate majors and master’s degrees in education and social work.

Colgate Rochester Divinity School
Located next to Highland Park and overlooking the Bristol Hills, this seminary is unique in offering the logical studies in both Protestant and Catholic disciplines.

Empire State College
A non-traditional approach to a college education is offered by Empire State College at 8 Prince Street. Self-study approaches substitute for class lectures, and highly individualized programs of study are designed to meet specific student needs
